Ann,
The reason Annie asks is that often times Tortoises are mixed with other animals that do not occur naturally in their home range. For instance a eastern box turtle housed with an Indian Star Tortoise. The box turtle may have developed immunity to certain viral or bacterial strains that a star tortoise would be completely susceptible to. Most individuals on this forum adamantly discourage mixing species.
