If you haven't already put hay in your dog house. I have been using timothy hay. You can also use bermuda grass or orchard grass hay. So far my tortoise goes into her house at night and I have had no problems with digging. I don't use a heat light during the summer and only from 8:30pm to 6:30am during the winter. Make sure there is a water dish and all the vegetation in its area is safe to eat. Also check and try to make sure there is nothing it can climb onto and tip over.

: OK don't be too brutal this may seem like a dumb question, but This will be the first summer my 3 year old sulcatta will stay outside full time,(I live in Arizona) I have a dog house set up for shelter, lots of shadey bushes planted. Do I keep a nighttime heat light on? Can someone tell me everything else I need to know and do. Thanks in advance for your help.
