How much UV light is appropriate? I've heard some concerns over high-output UV lights...

Jennifer

: I haven't tried the UV active heat bulb yet because I cannot spend $50 on something so new. How was I supposed to know if it really worked? The only site supporting it was the site of the company that produced it. Of COURSE they are going to sing its praises. They want to make money, don't they?

: Well, I got a complimentary copy of the Journal of the IHS, and somebody did a study of this bulb and others on the market, like Reptisun 5.0, etc. From this objective viewpoint, it was confirmed that this bulb does in fact, give off much more UVB than other bulbs currently on the market. I don't have the numbers memorized or the journal in front of me right now (I'm at work), but you can always email the IHS membership person and ask about getting a copy of the journal with this article.
