Hi there, a few important things about Russians....
First of all, a trip to the vet is going to be very important. Most all Russians carry a hefty parasite load, and need to be dewormed after having a fecal flotation as well as direct smear completed. Without this, these parasites cause illness, and sometimes even death.
Feeding....important as well! Offer natural items, stay away from the grocery store, no need to go there. Also, feed no fruits, these can cause intestinal imbalance...and illness. (or worse) NO dog food, animal protein, etc.
For plant lists and enclosure/garden ideas for Russian tortoises, please use the links I've provided...printing out the plants page will help you a lot until you become accustomed to the types of foods they prefer...you can get plenty of good ideas from folks who have successfully kept this species for years and have lots of experience.
