Some folks find that these guys can tolerate cool temperatures. I'm not one of them. I live in San Diego and these guys do not do well outdoors here. They cannot handle the cool nights. I found that thay like it warm and they do drink a great deal. The white urates will be pronounced it the animal has not gotten enough water. Also foods high in oxylates will cause this (spinach and the like.) The important thing is to keep them warm and hydrated. This is another one of those tortoises that like the range 75 - 100 F and do very well in that range.

: I have 2 indian star tortoise (geochelone elegans). They are 6 inch long. One of them has white feces. Is it a disease ?
: What should I do ?

: I put them in my backyard and I give them a small doghouse to hide. They always hide from direct sunlight but they always come out when it rains. They like rain very much I guess.
: Is it normal ?
