Redfoot Eating Preference

I have a new Redfoot that is about 2 years old. I have had him for about 2 weeks now. I am having a problem getting him to eat. I have put out a mix of about five different greens, but he just sniffs at it then goes back in his hiding spot. I f I put out a pile of some Tortoise chow pellets (softened in water then mushed up), he goes to town and eats away!! I really would rather have him eat the greens. Have I made a mistake with the chow? How do I get him to eat the greens? Should I just be patient and wait til he is hungry enough to eat them? He seems strong, usually poops when I soak him. The inactivity andd not eating worries me.

Any thoughts?
