OPK..how much weight has he lost?

Also..if you are going to Dr. Harkeweictz, good deal, good vet!

What I would do until then is place a VERY specific amount of food in with him...so that you KNOW if it has been disturbed.

Don't handle him too much as this will cause stress...the quieter the better. If he was a little chow hound until now...he may have developed an intestinal problem or something similar, make sure the vet does a fecal flotation as well as a direct smear. Also, have you looked into hi mouth to see if it looks healthy and pink? Or odes it look like it might be infected or pale?

14 to 21 days without food is not going to hurt him...unless ther is an underlying problem causing the loss of appetite. Have you tried any new foods....he might be tired of the same thing and want something else? Good things to try are Heron's beak, thistle, and dandelion and or hibiscus flowers. You should most probably be able to find dandelion flowers (I used to live in San Jose) so by now I'm sure they're bright yellow in everyone's yards :-) Sometimes a radical change...something irresistable but healthy does the trick.

Please let me know how he does. :-)

Annie
