Your tortoise may have become accustomed to the texture of the foods you've been offering after they've been frozen, as freezing does change the composition of many foods. It may also have taken on or soaked in the flavor of one or more of thefrozen items since they've been frozen together, and offering them fresh might not taste quite the same.

Getting this tortoise back onto fresh foods might be easier if you first let them sit together after being chopped up for a few hours...and the best thing is not to give into feeling sorry for it, should it not eat for a few days. Tortoises can go quite a long time without eating...and when they get hungry enough from holding out for the old, it should eat the new items.

I hope this helps,

Annie
: Hey Everyone,

: Asking for a little help here. I don't think my little guy is eating. I'm not home most of the day so I can't really monitor him. Everything has been the same; temperature, lighting, pen set up, soaking frequency, etc. The only thing different now is that I don't freeze their food any more and instead of a mush I used to make, their food is cut up into pieces about the size of a 1/4 of a cubic centimeter. When I used to freeze the food both of my Sulcata's ate like little piggies. Now only one does. The eating one is steadily gaining weight (210g tonight) and the one that hasn't been eating has lost 10 grams (115g tonight) in weight in the last 4 months.

: I feed them a mix of opuntia pads, yard grass, soaked alfalfa hay, straw, some other type of hay, dandilions, and every week I switch between 2 different kinds of vegetables that I get from the store: collard greens, endive, kale, watercress, and (from my back yard when in season) grape leaves, mulberry leaves, and hibiscus leaves.

: Well, I'm freezing some of their food tonight to see if the little one will eat it tomorrow. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.
