I can barely see the Trump building from my window. But this storm, at least in Manhattan, is nothing compared to the one we had before New Year's Eve. Sure, I had to remove all furniture, plants and debris from the balcony as they were expecting winds up to 60mph (or so the warning signs on the elevators in our building told us), but outside, it isn't really sticking to the street. Just blizzarding around the pedestrians.
The babies are fascinated by all of this, and Chanel doesn't know why his cherished sunbeam has disappeared, and he scrabbles against the glass balcony door to explore the strange white stuff on the balcony. After the last blizzard,
the snow had all melted except for a small 5 inch circle tucked behind a planter. I let him out to get his sunlight dosage on his heatmat and under the balcony heat light, and he sat contentedly for a minute and then discovered the small remainder snow and ran over to it, sniffed it once, and then began to eat it. He promptly got whisked away and put back inside, only to spend the rest of the day begging to go back out.
Angel seems fine about her missing toe. I was horrified to return back from the trip to find her sitting happily on her pig blanket with her entire foot slightly encrusted with muck. At least I know that she was kept ointmented and clean for the first day after it happened, up until I had to get on the plane. She promised not to break anymore nails, as long as I give her an extra helping of collard greens with her timothy hay.
