: i've recently purchased a red foot....i've read that they need humidy about 70 and i haven't been able to raise it past 60 and then it drops quite quickly...my red foot also hides all under his hiding spot...is this normal????

Hiding is normal behavior for redfoots. Soak them two or three times a week for a hour each time. Remember redfoots can't swim so don't make the water to deep, about half way up their shell. The important thing is to keep them hydrated. I've kept redfoots in Virginia for eight years and I never worry about humidity. Ours are doing fine, Hydration is the thing to worry about. One other thing while soaking they will most likely defecate that's normal and makes clean up a lot easier. You can see some of mine on a post below
(redfoots catching rays)(ain't maggie a sweety). I hope this helps.
