You were raight, the diet on tortoise.com is good for desert tortoise!!
: : : go to www.tortoise.com and under things you shold know there is a very helpful list of things you should feed your tortoise and things you should not feed it. Cabbage has little or no nutrition.
: : :
: : : : Should I feed my tort cabbage?
: : The diet proposed by www.tortoise.com is fine for desert tortoises but it doesn't contain enough protein to keep a red-foot healthy. Red-foots are omnivors in the wild feeding on grasses and carrion (dead animals). Their diet would be fine if you added a source of protein.

: Sorry Maja I thought Alex had a redfoot. I'm not sure what he has, so your suggested diet may very well be the right one. I've been responding to so many questions I'm loosing track of who I'm talking to.
