: I have two adult red foots that have had diarrhea for about a month now. I had been feeding mainly romaine lettuce, red lettuce and green lettuce and bannanna or zuchini on some days. They get fed every other day and have a bath every other day. They have a good enclosure with adequate heating. What can I do to stop this?
They need to have a fecal exam to check for parasites. Some romaine is ok but collards are a better choice. They need a wider variety of fruits and vegetables. No spinach or kale. Redfoots need more protein than other tortoises. In the wild they've been known to eat carrion (dead animals). A quarter cup of moistened dry dog food once or twice a month will do. Don't forget calcium and vitamin supplements.I hope this helps, feel free to Email me with any other questions.
