: Russians are readily available, and somebody is going to buy them. Better for them to be bought by somebody who is at least willing to come to this forum to learn how to care for them. Than by somebody who will buy them as a cheap, throw away pet for the kids.

: Yes Russians are over collected, but nothing will stop that, until laws are passed making it illegal.Or CB hatchlings are more readily available.If one person passes up a Russian in a Pet Store because it's WC, another will come along at some point and buy it.
: Their cheap price pretty much ensures that.

: Many people are now starting to breed Russian tortoises. As captive bred numbers grow and CB hatchlings become more readily available. Hopefuly WC russians in pet stores will become a thing of the past.
