The ActiveUV bulb is supposed to deliver more UVB than the regular fluorescents I think. It's mostly the convenience of a good UVB bulb and heat bulb in one...for me at least. What you have now is just fine. The Reptisuns need to be replaced yearly as the UV output diminishes at 6mos to a year. At a year, the UVB output is nominal, if at all. I don't know when you purchased your Reptisun, but if you are at a year, you might want to think about the ActiveUV. The website is www.uvheat.com. If you aren't yet at a year, I'd finish out the year with what you have so you aren't wasting money.
FYI - The ActiveUV bulb IS NOT suitable for a small enclosure or a fishtank type enclosure AT ALL. If you do not have a large, well-ventilated, low-topped (open-topped) enclosure, I would not recommend using the Active UV.
