My therm in the enclosure constantly ranges from 88-90 in the hot spot so I guess I am doing a good job! Thanks for the help!


: Create a hot spot of about 90F.

: You have to use a thermometer. You can't
: guess, and there is no simple forumala for
: putting a bulb a certain distance. It depends
: on the ambient temp, the bulb, the reflector, etc.

: So just get a thermometer and check it out.
: And check it as the weather changes, because
: as your house gets warmer or cooler, the
: temperatures in the enclosure will change, too.
: Some people control these things with thermostats
: and rheostats, etc. I just monitor and change
: things as the seasons change.

: Be sure that it's 90F under the lamp and
: about 70-80F in the opposite corner.
