I remember when you first wrote about sick suffering and weak Hoku. I was so worried that there would be a follow up posting about a real tragedy, and always kept little Hoku in my thoughts.
I am so thrilled that Hoku is happy, fattening up and healthy! His little stick legs are probably filling out, and his shell is hardening and he is able to enjoy the Hawaiian sunshine instead of sleeping all day after those baytril shots. He is a lucky little tortoise. I'm sure that without your sunshine and your loving care that baby would not have made it this far! His is such a happy story now, and my husband and I are super pleased to hear about it.
Give our best to Hoku!
Esther, Jon, Chanel and Angel Baby
: Hi Esther,
: Hoku is doing great, we just built him a new enclosure.
: It's in a sunnier part of the yard so he can go out earlier. He seems to prefer this enclosure and spends the entire day outdoors now, coming in at 5 pm.
: He is my first baby sulcata. I didn't want to wait for a hatchling to grow, so went with a sub adult first, Angel.
: I might be adopting another sulcata, if itstill needs rehoming. Not sure of age/sex yet.
: But Hoku continues to do very well, he is " completely saved"!
: No longer the skinny, weak little thing he was :)
: Terry.
