:It can mean either bacterial infection or avitaminosis (vitamin deficiency). You shuld take them to teh vet immidialety, small turtles are extramely fragile. Untill the vet visit you can buy solution that is sold in most pet stores to rinse their eyes.
ps: Do you soak your turtles regurarly in water and do you use calcium and multivitamin supplement with food? Also full spectrum light is necessary (remember bulb lasts only for about 12 months)
I have 4 very young 4-5" salcutts.I have been feeding them dark greens and 15 been mix and have planted eaible grasses in thier enclosure.Three days ago i noticd one of them had very white looking eyes but thought nothing of it.Today i got back from a seminar and saw that all 4 have very white looking eyes which they are not opening up at all.they have a water dish in with them and have the right temps as per melissa kaplans care sheet.they live on a sand/soil mix about 3"deep.I have no idea why a torts eyes would turn white like this.If you have seen this before or know what to do please let me know.i will post pics tonight.thanks nicolai
