Are you sure it's a star tortoise?
I noticed in a previous post that you mentioned that star torts cost $50.

I've never seen a star tortoise for that price, they are much more expensive.

If you suspect that the tortoise is sick, I recommend taking it to a vet ASAP, before it gets worse or dies.

Can you tell us about this tortoise, how is it housed what is it being fed. What temperatures is it being kept at.

If the tortoise cost around $50, I suspect it's either a Russian Tortoise, sulcata hatchling or even a box turtle.

Anyway I think a vet visit would be a good idea.
