Actually, from a description I think it is a Mississippi subspecies or K. s. hippocrepis. It's finally gotten brave enough to stick it's head out and does have "two light lines on side of head" as described at the URL below. It also at least two barbles (like the snapper)on its chin which I hadn't seen described before but certainly makes sense for a bottom-feeder.
