Carmen, I've got 2 at about 15Kg. What is that about 35 lbs. I've had them almost 18 years now. They weren't that much smaller when I got them. I've seen leopards to 40 lbs. Leopards are one of the more slower growing tortoises. I really don't think you have to worry about it becoming unmanagable any time soon.
A large leopard is anything over 20 lbs and even that is not very common. I'll post the record sized leopard tomorrow. Now that I think of it I posted a picture of a 42kg leopard from Somolia. That is definately extreem. It would take about 20 or so years for a leopard to reach 12 to 18 inches at a relatively normal rate.

: So far I know that I could meet the needs of the tortoises I've mentioned below, but I need some additional information:
: I like the Leopard and the Hermann's most, it's shallow but they're prettier, I also like the Russian(I'm not basing my decision just on looks though). The Leopard is going to grow larger than the Hermann's, and that is not a problem unless it gets to the size of those rare 100 pounders. I would like a tortoise that's going to be around 12-18" full grown. The Hermann's will only get to about 8" that's not bad and the Leopard more than 18". How common is it for a Leopard to grow to 100lbs and what is they're average size? Would a Russian be a closer fit?
: Thanks
: Carmen
