and don't really know what to tell you, but I hate
to see that nobody says anything. I'd bet you're
right, he wasn't a year old when you got him.
Teddy eats as much as he wants/can then stops, he
doesn't just keep eating for no reason, so I
haven't worried about overfeeding him either.
I don't know why your tortoise is so heavy, but
apparently there are some other people here
(I'm thinking of Esther) who have sulcatas that
have grown "too fast" compared to the desired
rate. They are indoors most of the time also.
I try to keep mine outdoors as much as possible
and of course this has been a long winter for
the southeast. But when he's outside he literally
walks ACRES and ACRES in a day! Unbelieveable,
just a non-stop walker/explorer/browser/cruiser.
In the house, he's in every room, behind the
couches/beds/pianos, back around the living room etc...ever walking.
