Once again common names cause confusion.
Shila do you have a sulcata or a Greek tortoise?
The correct Common name for a sulcata is: African spurred tortoise (not spur thighed).
The Spur thighed tortoise is a different species altogether.
Go to the link below where you will find photos and info on both African spurred tortoises. ( G.sulcata)
And Spur thighed tortoises (Testudo g. graeca)
Pet stores and even breeders often make the simple mistake of mislabeling sulcatas as Spur ( thighed) tortoises.
If you have a sulcata then you have an African spurred tortoise.
If you have a Greek tortoise you have a spur thighed tortoise.
Let us know which of the two species you have as the care is different for each species.
