This is actually a box turtle, not a tortoise, but you all seem so knowledgeable, so I thought I would ask your opinion on this one. I have a baby box turtle, it hatched last March. I have all of the babies in a large container with spagnum and dirt, they are not loose in the rock garden with the adults. They try to climb out and when they are standing up pressed up against the sides, sometimes they flip backwards and land upside down. All can get themselves right side up except for one. I do not rush to its aid, hoping that it will learn. But I think the shell is deeper than the others and is preventing it from using its leg strength to flip. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Christine
