Do you want to house the tortoises indoors? Would you like a presentable type enclosure for a livingroom display or just a basic floor type enclosure?
If you are limited to store bought greens try to mix it up as much as possible. Most stores carry this prepackaged mix called Spring mix which has dandelion green, radiccio(sp?) among other greens. The companies that have this also package other greens as well. Add about a half a tablet of Centrum (crushed to a powder) about once a week. Grate some cuttlebone on top of the mix at every feeding and you should have it covered.
I use pine bark mulch at about 4 inches deep and they like it very well as a substrate. Finally, look into an Active UV heat bulb if you are maintaining the little guys indoors.

: Hi, I have 2 Russian Tortoises and have some questions if I'm properly taking care of them. My first question...I feed them Romaine Lettuce, Green Leaf Lettuce, Carrots occaisonally and sometimes (very rarely) a strawberry. Any suggestions for more variety??? My second question....They are kept indoors in a 50 gallon fish tank. My husband and I would like to build them a better home but don't have a clue as to what to use and what to build.. My third question, the pet store where I bought them said we could use Cypress Rose Mulch as a base for them to walk on.. Is that OK?? I want them to live a long time and be happy..Please help any info. or links will be greatly appreciated.. Thanks in advance
