In Reply to: Will pair of russians mate, if living together? posted by mike on January 26, 2001 at 10:34:05:
Hi
When of age they will mate.
Outside thething to keep in mind is escape
Th ideal pen has sides they can't see throug, high enough with a lip facing in so they can't climb an a fence dug in deep enough that they can't dig out. if yo provid a spot in the middle of the the pen for digging and hiding...they won't be looking for a way out.

: hi, i have a temporary 30 gal tank for my 2 sub adult russians. I have 1 male, and 1 female. they live together now, but in the summer, they will be in a large outside enclousure. I want to mate them but not sure how. And in the summer, is there any special guidelines for an excape proof outside environment, that doesn't look all that bad.(considering i have a pond that adds a nice touch to the yard, and an ugly fence or something will screw it up)
: thanx!
