I recently acquired a baby redfoot. Great personality. Good eater. However, I have had a real problem keeping the humidity levels up in his domicile. We live in Houston, so you think it would be easy. Last night I got rid of the rabbit pellets. When you mist them they decay quickly, and I think the dust was causing some eye irritation. Plus they don't hold humidity for squat. So I switched to Repti-bark, which is a fir bark that has had dust and stuff removed. I know you should never use cedar, but has anyone had problems with fir? Bottomline, it doesn't seem to hold humidity that well either, and I'm afraid of getting the habitat too wet by drenching it. Should I switch to mulch? Any ideas on substrate, or humidity would be greatly appreciated. Rojo, or Rojito as he is also called, thanks you as well.
