But would like to let you know just how much my tortoises like the radiated heating panels. There are economical and are even guaranteed for ten years.
Mine are installed kind of like a dropped ceiling.

: OK, I hate to be a pain, here, but I need some advice. I have three sulcatas (1 male--Parry, 2 females--Raoture & Jolie) in an outdoor house we built for them. The house is about 18" by 13", with a sloped ceiling that tops out at 5'10" high. FYI, we live in Denver, Colorado. At the moment, The house is being heated in 3 ways. 1: Very, very good insulation. 2: heat lamps/basking lamps. 3: a duct I ran from the furnace of the main house out to their home. As you can imagine, this is a very expensive way to heat a reasonably large area. What I need to know is if anyone has any other recommendations. We have tried to obtain pig blankets, but nobody in Colorado knows what the heck they are (Even tack and feed stores). We considered a small space heater, surrounded with cinder blocks to keep them from getting burned, we've even considered putting up a temporary ceiling to reduce the area we need to heat. If anyone has any ideas on an energy-efficient way to heat this house, please let me know. Thanx!!!!!
