No flaming intended.
Just wanted to point out that it's important to find out exactly how the tortoise is being housed before recommending such high temperatures.

In a small fish tank/Rubbermaid, temperatures of 100 on one side would more than likely heat the whole thing up.
Large enclosures with plenty of air circulation and room to escape the heat are another thing altogether.

I'm not going through all the previous posts either. But I remember one that mentioned that the highest temperature was 80, yes too cool.
Another who had a tortoise in a small tank with both a heat pad and a heat lamp, too hot.

Of course idealy the tortoise wouldn't be in a small tank to start with.
But thanks to the not so great advise some pet stores give out, small fish tanks are frequently used.
