The white lines between the scutes represents new growth. This is not a problem. This can effect the overall appearance, especially of a young Russian tort. Hopefully that is all it is.

: my female russian seems to be turning lighter...her all over appearance seems pale.the ring going around her shell is all of a sudden really white and so are the spaces between(lines)
