I have hatched several leopard tortoises. I would
leave it alone until it gets out on its own. I know - it seems like it takes forever, but there is probably a yolk sac still attached to the baby and the half shell. If you try to seperate you may do irreperable damage. When it gets out, put it in a small dish with damp paper towels until the yolk sac absorbs. Keep a close eye on the baby because it may take bites out of the paper towel.
