: hi my sulcata hatchling sleeps with his head and feet out. is this normal? he never seems to tuck totally in his shell. even when im holding him. if i make i fast movement he will retract but as long as he knows its me he doesnt.
I'm glad someone asked that. I was about to think I had cornered the market on novice questions. Virgil (4 months)sleeps like that also. Usually it looks like he was just strolling along and then collapsed. Narcolepsy? Little back legs sticking straight out and his head turned and resting on a wad of his CareFresh. For the longest time, when I would first see him like that, I thought he had died. Poor thing was constantly getting woken up. Fortunately for Virg I'm beyond that now.
