Hi, usually the pelleted stuff is made out of corn, soy and oats products. It probably has preservatives and artificial flavors and color too huh?
You can learn more about the reasons these particular things wouldn't be good to base a diet on, from the link below. (you can also find good foods at just a glance)
I tend to look at what that particular animal eats in the wild and do my best to mimic it.
What kind of tort are you feeding?
