Can you positively ID these tortoises as being actual Desert Tortoise species or are they just arid type tortoises? Do you know their proper names? It's possible what you have is a non-hibernating torotise and, therefore, should get a positive ID on it before you do anything...but yeah, definitely don't keep them outside for now. Do you have a pic you could upload or send me?
