After reading the banter back and forth down below about the lack of knowledge people have about reptiles I remembered a story I just had to post. A couple of months ago, my boyfriend and I went into a local pet store where we have both bought reptiles. He bought two bearded dragons and I bought a Russian Tort. Well one day when we went in there another friend was in there buying a kitten. After he decided what kitten he wanted he spent half an hour with one of the owners signing all these papers and recieving tons of care info. It baffled me that you need care info on a CAT !!! and when my boyfriend and I got our reptiles we weren't offered any info at all. Of course I asked tons of questions but we never had to sign anything and were not offered care sheets or anything of the sort. I just found this really odd and feel thankful that our reptiles got into good educated homes since apparently the pet store really didn't care.
