Agreed here. Once they come out of their shell they do have interesting behaviors and can be very outgoing.

: Hi , I keep and breed several sp. of Hinges and enjoy them all very much . While it is true that any and all w.c. animals can have a substantial parasite loads I think once cleaned up these inexpensive Torts. are quite interesting. Though more secretive then some others , these tropical Torts. Do exhibit indidual personalities and can be quite aggressive eaters.Mine love earthworms and Turkey burgers as a weekly treat. Vet care for any new arrival is always a good idea and I would not let this stop you from ownership . The size and relative inexpensiveness of this sp. adds to it's charm.
