Real sand is alot finer than calci sand and it has no dyes. Have there been any problems by people using this?
: Calci sand is pricey which is fine, except it is
: not needed for tortoises. They shouldn't be eating
: it for vitamin D, because they should be getting that
: from some other source. And I have seen testimonials
: from people that have had torotises eat it and
: literally filled their bellies with it, visible
: on X-rays even. Not good. Also, I feel that sand
: is abrasive, and then there are the dyes to worry
: about. If the sulcata is in something small enough
: to fill with calci-sand and not spend $100 bills,
: then save the money for a bigger set up instead.
: I wouldn't dump 200 plus pounds of it into my
: tank for the money.
