Deb,

I am 100% glad you didn't get blasted and got help instead.

I never once questioned Marissa's knowledge here and still don't.

But, I disagree with you in that I, and other people, have been blasted and have felt the condescending attitude here. And, I usually do just move on after reading posts that I don't agree with. This time, however, I felt the need to speak. I am not speaking about Marissas attitude, or anyone elses, all the time. But this time, I felt the judgemental opinion went too far.

: I'm sorry, but I have to stick my nose in right about here. I'm one of those who "bought before knowing what I got".

: I purchased my Tank last Feb at a reptile show in Columbus, Ohio - yes, I'm from the Northeast as well. I went to the show thinking I was going to bring home an Iguana for my son for his birthday. I saw this teenie, tiny "turtle" in this little plastic box, trying desperately to get out. That was it, I was sold. I asked the guy what it was, finding out right then the difference between a turtle and a tort. Naturally, he recommended the tort instead of an iguana because the tort was a friendlier creature [hey, he wanted to get rid of him, right?]. I even got the fancy-dancy book by Richard and Robyn Wilson about Sulcata's that clearly says it's okay to keep hatchlings in an aquarium [pg.25]. And judging by the cover, I knew right off the bat how big Tank would get.

: Sorry, I'm getting off track. My point is this: I came on this board last February, stated I was a newbie and was clearly set to be blasted for buying before researching. Imagine my utter surprise when I didn't get blasted at all.

: Marissa has been a very big help to me, both by email and on this board giving others advice. Posts and opinions are people. If you don't like what you get, either mutter "thanks" or ignore and move on. Yes, there's been holier than thou attitudes on here, but Marissa CERTAINLY isn't one of them. Experience is talking and since I don't have much, I'm listening. Thanks, Marissa - Tank is flourishing!
