red ear slider not eating

Hello everyone, I have a question regarding a red ear slider about 3 inches big. I know I shouldn't even have this because of regulations but its actually my friend's and she told me it stopped eating. I don't know much about the turtle but she has not given it proper lighting so I took it in because I have lamps and UV lighting for my tortoise. So if anyone has an info please enlighten me. Thanks for all the help.
