Hi Gary, I have to say that although I'm sorry you lost your first tortoise, it's pretty disappointing to hear you chose to obtain not one but TWO more sulcata tortoises, now knowing full-well that they are so impractical to keep properly for more than a few years in our area. From what you said about the place you bought them at, they didn't seem competent or very knowledgeable about the tortoises themselves, based on the information you shared with me that they initially gave you. I wish you luck with the two new tortoises but feel eventually that they will probably contribute to the alarming trend in increase of sulcata rehomings or abandonments in the Northeast.
