Isn't it interesting to watch them drink? Our 4 and 8 yr. old sulcatas also stick their heads deep into the water just below their eyes and suck for some time and then swallow as we watch the big lump go down their thoats. Usually they pass a few bubbles out the nostrils after doing this so don't be alarmed. Our 8 yr old male drinks a great deal more than the 4 yr old female but then he is the more active of the two.
: I think our 2 year old sulcatta just learned to drink! We gave her
: a bath this morning, and when I checked on her (my wife walked out)
: she had her face under the water.. At first I was afraid she was
: drowning (though the water level was very low) but she raised her
: head to look at me then stuck it back down.. She's never taken more
: than a small sip before.. Even then I think she was more curious
: as to what this stuff was.. But today she wouldn't stop drinking for
: 5 minutes! :-) Just thought I'd share.. She hasn't been acting
: strange or sick.. But perhaps with the winter air being dryer than
: summer she's simply a bit dehydrated.. Or was.. now she has to be
: waterlogged.. :)
