Hi Christine,
I'm in Ft. Lauderdale and yes it is pretty cold for S.Fla. I have an outdoor pen for my redfoots with wood walls. I put a wood cover over one corner and put a heat lamp in it. I used a 250 watt ceramic heat element which emitts no light, but keeps that corner about 70 degrees at night. They all huddle in the corner, even the wood turtles like it. Hope I helped you.
