There are many over the counter wormers specifically meant for reptiles, most are quite safe if you follow thwe manufactures recomendations on the side. I would suggest if you know of a good reptile vet to get a stool sample and identify the worm species. Sometimes it is not worms at all, but parasites with the similiar symptoms. Single celled parasites such as ameobas and flagellates can take out a tortoise real quick. Worms can also kill your tortoise, if money is an issue, then try the over the counter products. I would recomend Metronidazol for parasites other than worms (it can be purchased at fish stores) and just a general de-wormer. I would suggest you do both treatments as a precaution. Do them apart from one another and remember to do follow up treatments if the instructions call for that. Good luck, Leo
