Hi Lisa,
Thanks for your concern! The babies arrived, they were cold, one of them was upside down in his/her container and the other was wet from his own urine. I wrapped up a heating pad with a towl and placed it in a box and put them on it. It took a day, but finally one of them started moving around. The other one wouldn't move at all, I was so worried about it, but finally he started walking around today. Both of them seem to be doing well, they are both eating good and just won't stop moving!! I was so amazed that they made it alive, they are truely survivors! I haven't decided on what to name them yet, but I am sure I will decide soon. Thanks to everyone that pulled for them! Happy Holidays,Christy
: First of all...Christy, did your babies arrive yet? Are they ok?
: Virgil went to the vet yesterday and weighed 46 grams. I contacted the dealer I got him from and he confirmed that he is only 3 months old, not the 5 as stated on the health certificate. Something about bulk inspections? Is 46 grams normal? What should I be expecting as far as weight gain in a week/month? Vet declared him healthy...clear eyes, no runny nose, not dehydrated, etc. I've been reading more and more and several books/articles state that in captivity they are fed too much and that sometimes creates problems. If Virgil is not eating enough (in my eyes, I read somewhere else that he should eat 1/4 cup a day and he is no where near that...I would say a teaspoonful was pushing it) could it be that he is truly getting enough? I am paranoid. I'm sure you are sick of me. Please don't give up on me yet, for Virgil's sake. Thanks again.
