Yes, if you have a steady hand, you cansafely candle your eggs. I Candle my Sulcata at 30 days and can always see the start of blood vessels. they are usually clumped together in one spot. At 60 days, the aggs are alot darker and the blood vessels are everywhere, very thrilling! This is with a regular hand held flashlight, with fresh batteries. It cannot be stressed enough not to roll the eggs. If you roll the eggs, you will most likely kill the developing embryo (imagine seeing blood vessels and then your elbow bumps against something beside you!) When you candle the eggs, take them out one at a time (gently brush off the egg BEFORE you take it out of the incubator) lift the egg in the exact possition it was resting in and with your free hand gently place the flashlight on the opposite side of the egg (the egg should be between you and the flashlight.) Move the light around to check different parts of the egg, don't move the egg itself! Only check one or two eggs, you don't want the eggs to get too cool. Remember to make the room as dark as possible. If you use proffessional grade candler, you can actually see the embryo! enjoy and be careful! Leo
