The x-ray would be safe if done properly, but wouldn't tell you much if anything on a hatchling. I don't know of any other way besides the external signs. Maybe someone could develope genetic testing for sex in hatchlings and young reptiles like they have for birds.
: what are the ways to sex sulcata know they cant really be sexed till aleast 12" but is there a way if an x-ray can be done are there and side affects and is it 100%
