Here's a little more!

Do you provide UV lighting,for tortoises/turtles? If they're kept indoors it's a MUST.
Also a basking lamp.

For Russian tortoises I would provide a basking area of around 86-88 degrees, under the basking light.With a slightly cooler area of around 80 degrees also.
Then a cooler side of the enclosure around 75 degrees.

This heat gradient is VERY important, as tortoises need to be able to move between the warmer and cooler areas to regulate their body temperatures.

Night time temperatures should be around 70 - 75 degrees.

UV lighting is a MUST, without it all kinds of problems will pop up. Soft shell, bone disease and others.

If the tortoise is housed outdoors no UV lighting is needed, as it will recieve natural sunlight.
Sunlight through a window is useless, as most of the UV rays are blocked.
