He has a water bowl, the shallow saucer type with
the wider bottom in his cage at all times. In the
summer I don't usually put water outside, I have
and it just attracts insects. Teddy drinks out
of his bowl at least 4 times a week, that I see,
but he's sly about it. He will wait for me to
go through my spider cages and geckos giving
everybody fresh water (daily) and of course
Teddy's. He'll watch, basking. Then when I
am finished and "disappear" he will go across the
cage (water is on cool side) and drink half of
the bowl! LOL! I spy on him, he seems to be keeping
a lookout for me, and when he thinks I'm out of
range he'll drink. He doesn't seem afraid, just
careful. Possibly this is a vunerable time in
the wild - drinking (as it is with many animals).
Sometimes he will just trapse through the water
dish if he doesn't feel like walking around it, but
not usually. I've never seen him soak, nor outside
in the summer in warm water. He doesn't really
care for soaking, prefers the sprinkler.
I have never seen him drink at any other time than
in the morning. But it's for sure at least 4-5
times a week, and daily in the summer before going
outside. niki
Let's see, I got him Oct. 99, and he was 78 grams,
supposedly 5-6 months old. Now he's over 700 grams,
and I've had him 14 months. niki
