I have stars that are fed a strict vegetarian diet. Mostly hibiscus leaves/flowers, sweet potato leaves, romaine, clover, some squash/bananas/apples. Absolutely no protein. I throw in calcium supplement and/or egg shells every so often. I try not to feed them too much fruit as they are grazers.
I used to move them around the yard and allow them to graze on the various grass using a circular fence that is staked so they wouldn't escape. I am too busy to allow this and therefore they are quite happy with the fruits of my labor.
