Do the Petco's in your areas have forest hingebacks in stock? I have been to a number of Petcos in the Dallas and Houston areas and they've all had them. I've seen one or 2 in seemingly ok condition. The rest have all had them mixed in with other inappropriate species in really bad conditions. Usually with very dry substrate like hay or pellets. I've pointed out to various employees/managers that either their turtles were sick, dehydrated, or were going to be sick due to the setup they were in, all with varying degrees of interest or caring. One employee looked positively horrified when I handed her one really pretty forest hingeback that had an obvious eye infection and told her that it would need veterinary care.
I was just curious. Petco was just the first place I saw this beautiful type of turtle.
