Hi Terry, no problems over here, I think we all have differing views on what should/should not be used as food.
Who cares, we all love & enjoy our animals & as long as they are fit & healthy thats what matters.
Sure they may have internal organs which may or may not be a future problem but only time will tell.
FWIW, I'm due to take my beasts to Stuart later this month for an x-ray, purely to see how dense the bone structure is & to try & give an insight into what may be "structured" within my fast growing animals.
Don't think I can post an x-ray, but will see what evolves.

: I didn't mean to upset anyone, I've just about given up caring what people feed their sulcata. Like you said to each his own, definitely a very touchy subject.
: I just wish there was a tried and true formula to follow, but doubt there ever will be.Not with all the conflicting views on the subject!
: Hoku at a year and a half is just over 3", around 140-145 grams, I doubt he'll be much bigger than 4"-5" at age 2.
: Normal? Probably not, probably on the small size, but with all the different growth rates reported, who knows anymore.
: Then Lori posted re a sulcata that weighs close to 80lbs at just over two years.
: I just can't imagine a tiny hatchling reaching that size and weight in less than three years.
: Different climates, different diets, housed differently, kept at different temperatures, some drink, some don't. I give up!!!!
: Why is anyone even bothering to experiment? No matter what the results, there will always be the same arguments on the subject.
: Also, the tort might look perfect on the outside but internal organs might not be up to par.
: That was the case with Rex, absolutely perfect shell, fully grown male. But the kidney and liver were failing.
: I won't even bother mentioning the diet we think he had been on, no need to rock the boat any further!
